These rendezvous (c'est what?) are seasoned with good vibrations, and salted and peppered with energy and rhythm! Take a look at this impressive list of jazz bands - you'll find "more than" one group you don't want to miss. You're invited to attend any of our events, no charge for 'first time' guests. Read the previous paragraph again in case you've suddenly forgotten what you just read about the time, location, etc. of Sunday Jazz Cabaret Concerts ! haha...

If you are looking for a smorgasbord of jazz, see the variety we offer! RJS has grown through the years with happy members, who enjoy *jazzin' it up* once a month. Our guest bands offer great jazz music for dancing, foot-tapping, hand-clapping ... you know the drill.

IT IS WITH GREAT EXPECTATIONS THAT WE LOOK TOWARD APRIL, 2005,FOR THE
*** REDDING JAZZ FESTIVAL REVIVAL ***

A generous, well-known northern California jazz band leader,
ED ZIMBRICK, 10TH AVENUE BAND,
will guide us into this *grandiose* effort next year.We have many volunteers already - AND THAT'S GOOD ! cuz we know how quickly time passes!!! More information will be posted here as it becomes available. We're all rev-v-ved up !

ANNUAL YOUTH JAZZ BAND CONCERTS
AND SPONSORS

LOOK OUT 2004, HERE WE COME !!. MARCH 20, 2004, WAS OUR DATE ! Once again in the Mt. Shasta Mall Food Court, our local schools gathered to "promote" jazz and their musical progress! Steve Fischer, Board member, was our chairman this year.As the months fly by, Steve and his wife, Nancy, were "double-handedly" preparing for this event. Our 'jazzers' helped, also, work toward the common goal of this project.

2003 YOUTH JAZZ BAND CONCERT
IN MT. SHASTA MALL, FOOD COURT, WAS GREAT! **EIGHT** local schools played this year! The link above includes information on 2001 and 2001 - and the "3-county" involvement.

In early spring, for the past 5 years, (including this year) Mt. Shasta Mall and RJS sponsor a "YOUTH JAZZ BAND DAY" in the Food Court. This is a spacious area, with tables and chairs, a complete wall of windows behind the stage, which gives a well-lighted area for the musicians. This "happy" annual event been very well attended and appreciated by the community.

Included in youth jazz link is information on 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004!! *3-county* school band concerts at Mt.Shasta Mall.

... AND SPEAKING OF "YOUTH" ...During our SUNDAY JAZZ CABARET CONCERTS, our raffles support young musicians attending the annual Sacramento Jazz Camp (see link at beginning of this page). RJS raffle proceeds have gone a long way to "pay the way" for many of our youth to attend the Sacramento Youth Jazz Camp, held in August, each year. We're proud of each student who attends and is taught by professional musicians.

... THESE STUDENTS return home with a *new* revelation of ... what is this thing called "syncopation" ... and ... "knowing" the jazz pulse has been born and is alive in them.
