CHRIS BROWN
Leader - SAX
JUMPIN’ JAMBALAYA JAZZ BAND

CHRIS BROWN has been playing soprano/alto saxophones for
about 30 years. He graduated from the University of Pacific, 1993, with
majors in music & business. He has played with numerous bands such as the
CREOLE JAZZ KINGS, TULEBURG JAZZ BAND, 10TH AVE. JAZZ BAND,
AND CELL BLOCK SEVEN.
Bruce Saxton, tenor/baritone sax: Bruce started his musical career in
Marin County. He has long been involved in the Bay Area music scene, playing
in several popular bands.
Ken Brock, trumpet/flugelhorn. A 1969 grad of Boston Berklee College of
Music, Ken is currently an instrumental music teacher, playing professionally
for over 40 years.
Bruce Stuart, trombone. Bruce has been playing for about 20 years. He
graduated from Cal State and has played with the S.F. Symphony, the
Ringling Brothers Circus and numerous jazz bands.
Buddy Apfel, tuba/string bass. Buddy traveled 36 states with Clyde McCoy,
1970-1973 and toured with Jim Cullum Jazz Band. He also traveled with Guy
Lombardo Orchestra. He’s played with so many bands-it seems that every
band listed here, he’s been on them.
Rich Owens, keyboard. Rich has played keyboard instruments for 35
years. He also plays on 5-6 bands that have been in Redding. Rich is on South
Bay Board of directors, Publicity Chairman.
Adam Roderick, drums. He currently plays with Fog City Stompers and
The Pacific Coast Ragtime Orchestra. He has played on over half-a-dozen
bands in the Bay area.
Fellow Jazzers - where do these musicians find all the time for so many
bands ??? THIS BAND is great. Don’t miss them.
