Tom died in July 1936 in Gadsden, Etowah County, Alabama. He is buried at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery near Sandrock, Cherokee County, Alabama. Lena eventually moved with her sons to Florida. She died on January 16, 1955 in Walnut Hill, Escambia County, Florida.

They had the following children: Carl Gerald HIGGINBOTHAM, Juanita "Babe" HIGGINBOTHAM, Otis HIGGINBOTHAM, Lois Irene HIGGINBOTHAM, Janius Asbury "Dick" HIGGINBOTHAM and John Roy "Pete" HIGGINBOTHAM.
Willie, John and children moved to Wichita County, Texas in about 1907. They lived there for several years before returning to Alabama. John worked as a carpenter while living in Texas. In 1911 they moved back to Cherokee County, Alabama. They lived near Leesburg in Cherokee County. Willie and John had a tract of land they farmed at Pollard's Bend in Cherokee County.
John was well known throughout Cherokee County, where he had lived since he was nine years old. Some remember his remarkable health and stamina in his older age - when in his 90s, he walked each day to the post office in Centre - some 6 or 7 miles away. At the age of 99 he died on March 25, 1969 in Centre, Cherokee County, Alabama. He is buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery, near Leesburg. Willie died on March 17, 1973 also in Centre. She is buried with John in Cedar Hill.
John Roland SHERBERT (William3, Aaron2, Nathan1) was born August 1886 in Calhoun County, Alabama. He moved with his parents and siblings in the late 1880s or early 1890s to the Lookout Mountain area of DeKalb and Cherokee County, Alabama.
Roland met and married Rhoda Ann HOLMES in Cherokee County, Alabama. Rhoda was born on November 18, 1892 in South Carolina. They had the following children: Agnes Mae SHERBERT, Marvin Junior SHERBERT, Ralph William SHERBERT and Bonnie Dean "Deaner" SHERBERT.

I have been told Uncle Henry was a very active man into his 80s. In his 80s he still hiked looking for ginsing root. May be the root or may be the hike kept him vital. Henry died November 28, 1981 in Centre, Cherokee County, Alabama. He was buried at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery in Cherokee County, Alabama. Myrtle died on July 14, 1983 in Collinsville, DeKalb County, Alabama. She is also buried at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
