Titus Fox was a revolutionary soldier serving under Col Benjamin Cleveland in the Wilkes County militia and was at the battle of Kings Mountain. After the revolution, he was granted land in Burke County. 9/7/1780 - 11/7/1780 (Early Settlers of Reddies River, 1976 by Paul W. Gregory pg 48)

By 1800 he moved to Anderson County, South Carolina settling on the Choal Cr drainage of the Saluda River.

About 1803 he settled in Hopkins County, Kentucky on Clat Creek, near the present community of White Plains.

Kings Mountain Deacon of the Baptist Church his life devoted to religion and the good of mankind"
William was a Major on April 10, 1776 and a Lieutenant Colonel on
October 5, 1777.
He was in command of a 80 man militia at the Battle of King's Mountain. There his good friend Daniel Sisk was killed. ( Daniel was the grandfather of Nancy Perriman Sisk)
Retired from military June 1, 1778.
Listed in the Pension records of soldiers in Revolutionary War, War of
1812, and Indian wars, who settled in Hopkins co. Ky.
He applied for his pension at the age of 71 and received $555.76

"He served in the Revolutionary War under Benjamin Cleveland and was wounded in the Battle of Kings Mountain by a ball of shot which passed through his left arm into his right side and remained there the rest of the life. He was allowed a pension on Certificate #23881, issued 20 Apr 1834, rate $26.66 per annum.

Commenced 4 Mar 1831 John named 10 children by 1st wife and 7 children by 2nd wife in his will: 1st wife--Joseph, Austin Albert, Alfred, Lucinda, Nancy, William, James, Matilda H. S., Mary Elmira "Polly Mira" and Cynthia.
2nd wife--*Hazy, Cora Eliza, Stephen, Samuel Carlton, Milton, Daniel D. and John Wesley. *2nd bequest to "brother Hazy"--some people believe that Hazy was one of John's children. Noted this way because no proof one way or the
other."

John Fox fought at Kings Mountain when he was 16. He was married twice. Both times in N.C. He came to Knox county, TN in the 1830s and died here in the early 1840s. His second wife died her in the 1850s. His son Austin was the first Fox of his line to come to Knox county. He built a two-story brick house in the 1820s which is still lived in today.
John fought in Battle of Kings Mountain and was also wounded there. Due to the wound this tall man always walked in a stooped position thereafter. He also raised 18 children to maturity
"The Heritage of Burke County 1981". There are biographical sketches about John Fox and his sons Alfred and John Wesley, William James who was the son of Alfred, and Robert Joseph who was the son of William James. There is also a picture of Robert Joseph Fox and his wife Ellen (Julia) Saulman Fox that was taken on their 50th wedding anniversary. The sketch about John tells about his military service and how he was wounded by a ball passing through his arm and into his left side, how he was placed on a horse with a bundle of bed clothes to lean on, and how he made his way home to Wilkes Co., NC. It says the ball was never removed and that John thereafter walked in a stooped position. It talks about his two marriages - first to Elizabeth Loving, second to Valintia Branch and names his ten children with Elizabeth and his seven children with Valintia. His ten children with Elizabeth were: Joseph, Lucinda, James, William, Alfred, Austin Albert, Mary "Polly" Mira, Matilda, Cynthia, and Nancy. His seven children with Valintia were: Hazey, Cora Eliza, Samuel Colton, Daniel, Milton, Stephen, and John Wesley.
